The COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent issues in the health care industry have changed health care as we know it.
That’s why we’re advocating to create a health care system that delivers accessible and affordable care so people can live healthier lives.
We believe that health care providers should compete to offer the best health care products and services at the best prices to meet the needs of the patient and that temporary reforms such as Certificate of Public Need, which was enacted in the wake of COVID-19, have helped us achieve this vision.
Now, we’re fighting to make these reforms permanent.
This session, we will work with lawmakers to permanently remove existing certificate of public need laws (COPN). During the pandemic, many states, including Virginia, temporarily removed these restrictions and saved lives. Permanently removing COPN laws will ensure better access to quality care for all Virginians.
