We shouldn’t send Ukraine another blank check

This aid bill would nearly double what’s already been sent

Dear Lawmaker:

As your constituent, I urge you to oppose the newly proposed package to send additional aid to Ukraine. This proposal would add tens of billions to our already over $50 billion in support to date, while our wealthy European allies have failed to consistently send even a meager fraction the same aid…and this conflict is right in their backyard.

Americans are right to sympathize with Ukraine as it resists Russia’s immoral war of aggression, but the U.S.’s response must first protect its own vital interests. Here at home, we are facing soaring inflation, outrageous debt, record gas prices, and more and more Americans are living paycheck to paycheck. Is it in our interests to continue writing blank checks to Ukraine?

Furthermore, our continued aid has put us in a dangerous proxy war with Russia by sending billions of dollars of lethal weapons into the fight. Continuing to fuel this war with military aid risks escalating into direct conflict with Russia - a conflict the American people overwhelmingly oppose putting American lives on the line for.

Instead of rubber-stamping an aid package and prolonging the death and destruction from the war, lawmakers should demand clearer answers from the Biden administration on its goals in Ukraine, how they relate to our national interests, and how this aid package supports them.

Please vote “no” on this, or any aid package without getting the answers to these questions. We deserve to know how you are spending our tax dollars and protecting our national interests.
